Objective Strength Assessments
Using fixed dynamometry to assess specific muscle capacity, strength deficits can be identified to tailor exercise programs. This also allows monitoring of improvements to ensure progress and inform when adjustments are appropriate.
EMG Analysis & Biofeedback
Using surface electromyography, muscle performance can be assessed and measured in real time. This can lead to invaluable insights into your neuromuscular strategy, indicating which muscles your body is choosing to activate (or not) for a given movement. This has various applications from identifying which exercises or modifications are targeting the muscle best, to training for proper engagement during movement.
Squat & Jump Analysis
Jumping and squatting performance largely is dependent on how the ground is used to create power — and you also have to survive the landing. Using 3D force plate technology to measure how effectively you are pushing or shock absorbing, and in what direction, can reveal opportunities to improve performance and reduce the chance of injury. Importantly, this information can also be crucial to determining if you are ready to return to work or sport.
Gait Analysis
Walking is something most of us need to do on a daily basis. The way we walk can have implications on joint and overall musculoskeletal health, from osteoarthritis implications to muscle imbalances. Applying 3D sensor-based modeling methodology, free movement in open space can be accurately measured in real time. Similar to other analyses, this information can enable the detection of gait related problems or areas to improve to avoid long term consequences. And yes, this can be applied to outdoor running, too.
Full Suite Biomechanical Analysis
For the most powerful level of assessment, any combination of the above assessments can be combined into tailored, multi-sensor test batteries. This can be useful for whole-body motion diagnostics to help understand possibilities of pain or dysfunction stemming from movement strategies. These assessments are also excellent for informing return to activity status and readiness for discharge from rehabilitation.
